Christmas Soap Making Workshop - La Soaperie

Christmas Soap Making Workshop

$70.00

In this basic fast paced 1.5 hour workshop you will make beautiful Christmas soaps to use yourself or give as a unique handmade gift. We will be utilizing the cold process soaping method, holiday fragrance oils and colours to create beautiful, fragrant holiday soaps.

This class will show you the very basics of using oils, colours, fragrances to create soap. Safety will be emphasized and everyone takes home 1- three pound loaf of fresh soap. The soaps will need time to harden prior to removing from the mould, so you will need to make arrangements to return to the studio in a couple of days to pick up your un-moulded soap.

You can choose one festive fragrance oil for your soap loaf. Your choices include Santa’s Pipe, Sweater Weather or Peppermint Candy.

Be sure to wear long sleeves, pants, closed toe shoes and bring splash/chemical goggles and an apron to class to protect your clothes.

Cold process soap takes 4-6 weeks to cure so these soaps will be ready just in time to give as special gifts on the big day!

Please note

This workshop is fast paced and geared towards someone who wants to make soap this one time as a gift or for themselves, but is not interested in learning the real science (when, why, how) of soap making. If you are interested in learning more about the why and how, then it is suggested that you sign up for our comprehensive Natural Cold Process Soap Making Workshop.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate

Regrettably there is no wheelchair or walker access as our studio is in the basement

In order to guarantee your seat, classes must be paid in full at time of booking.

We require a minimum of 72 hours notice prior to class start time for refunds or a class transfer to a different date.  Our classes often have a wait list, therefore no refunds will be given if you miss a class or provide less than 72 hours notice.

Hazmat Waiver:

Soap made from scratch cannot be made without using Sodium Hydroxide (caustic soda, NaOH, Lye). Lye works as an emulsifier in soap making that allows oils/butters to mix with water to create soap. This process is called saponification. There is some risk involved with our class including the use of Sodium Hydroxide and heating elements. A waiver will be provided for your signature prior to your participation in the class that excludes La Soaperie and the instructor from all liability from the improper use of the materials and equipment provided.  A safety component relating to soap making and the use of Sodium Hydroxide will be provided in class. By purchasing this class and/or Sodium Hydroxide from La Soaperie you are automatically accepting the following agreement.
